I can’t remember a time that I didn’t want to be an artist. As a pre-schooler I was always to be found up in my room quietly drawing and colouring, before quickly progressing onto my first mural aged 9. On pulling back the clothes hanging in my bedroom cupboard, my mum was met face to face by a giant 3ft Garfield the cat painted on my wall!!

My teenage years...

were spent hanging out in the school art department (regardless of what class I was supposed to be in!) and it was there that Mr Alston, my wonderful art teacher directed and nurtured my love of art. Studying Art & Design and then Illustration, was a great foundation to my art career but the freelance world was tough.
Freelancing for several years while volunteering within my local community opened my eyes to the many ways I could use my visual arts skills to make a positive difference. Inspired by these experiences, I went on to complete a degree in Community Arts, continuing to work alongside a wide range of community groups. It was during this time that I discovered my true passion for creating art that brings people together.

My love of mural painting grew after completing two large-scale mural commissions in Scotland. Then, when London came calling, I took on my next major project—a 30-metre indoor mural for a special needs adventure playground in Hackney before heading off to Kenya to complete my next mural for a local primary school.
In 2007, I was introduced to the world of mosaic. I was captivated by its colour, texture, and endless creative possibilities. From that moment on, mosaics became my passion, combining my love of community art with a medium that allows people of all ages and abilities to create something truly lasting together.
